The Barnardo's Charity campaigns to transform the lives of vulnerable children and young people. The main purpose of Barnardo's is to support and champion the rights of every child through providing services in counselling, disability, fostering, adoption and education as well as petitioning for better childcare policies. For every £1 our society donates to Barnardo's, 92p is spent on their work with underprivileged children, young people and families in the UK.
Current campaigns which we, as a society, contribute to include:
Support the Unsupported
providing emotional support to those children who have noone else to turn to
Children of Prisoners
speaking up for children to ensure they do not inherit a life sentence
Child Sexual Exploitation
Barnardo's is the leading charity that works to prevent sexual exploitation and protect children from this crime
Care Leavers
ensuring young people leaving care get the help they deserve to start a new life
Child Poverty
working to eradicate child poverty in the UK
The Barnardo's Charity also has a chain of high street and local retail shops. In Sheffield there are shops located on Crookes and Abbeydale Road which you can support!
